What is General Paediatrics?

 A general paediatrician is a doctor with the knowledge and skills to manage the health concerns of children from acute, life-threatening illnesses to chronic diseases. Health promotion from birth to late adolescence is also a huge focus area in General Paediatrics.  

General paediatricians develop significant expertise allowing for provision of holistic, child-centred care across the full range of paediatric subspecialties. As experts in the investigation and diagnosis of children, they initiate treatment which may be delivered and continued by them or by another clinician or team depending on the needs of the child. As General Paediatricians they also collaborate with other professionals and agencies in order to deliver high calibre, individualised and optimal care for children. 

The paediatricians at Holistic Paediatrics are all highly qualified and very experienced in working with children and the broad range of issues they can have. They are all members of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
